Hikawa Shrine
This is one of the most superb old shrines in Japan with a history said to go back more than 2,000 years. This shrine was respected by the generals of the times, and was venerated by many famous Japanese samurai, such as Minamoto no Yoritomo. There is an approach of a few kilometers to the shrine, the history of prosperity of which is the current cornerstone of Omiya. Omiya Park, the first modern park of the prefecture, spreads behind the shrine, where people enjoy boating and a mini zoo tour as well as just strolling.
