Giant Kite Festival (Showa Town) This festival takes place on the banks of the Edo River in Nishi-Houshubana, Showa Town, Kitakatsushika, on May 3 and 5. Huge kites measuring up to 15meters in length, 11 meters in width and weighing 800 kilograms, which is as large as 100 tatami, are set into the sky.
